I was both looking forward to seeing this and not - a common feeling of mine, when I've heard a lot about something before interfacing with it. I have to say it was much better than I expected. I was worried about how they were going to actually tell such a tricky story, since I knew the broad arc going in. I think with subject matter like this, it's inevitable to not feel clunky in parts, but overall it moved in through everything relatively smoothly and logically. The music is lovely, especially when it breaks into small vocal ensemble - the chords are so lush and sparkly. Overall a satisfying musical, which I'm pleased to write.
